Pissi Myles

Every Big Top Circus must have a freak sideshow!

Too much? Enough is enough? Or is this just right?

By “this” I mean a flaming crimson, (Tower of Pisa leaning) platinum wig-wearing, stiletto balancing act, and a  vulgar exhibitionist who labels themself a Drag Queen. Allow me to introduce to you one Pissi Myles. Myles, who identifies as an Entertainer/Reporter sans persona, is 33 yr old, Joe D’Angio from  Asbury Park, New Jersey, where he resides with his husband. Pissi can be seen most weekends performing in the West Village in full drag.

Wednesday, complete with a selfie stick, this sideshow entered Longworth House Office Building on assignment for an open-source, live-streaming TV network called Happs TV. The mission was a marketing ploy and strutting about snapping pictures with Congresswoman  Schakowsky and being interviewed by other media outlets generated just the Buzz desired. I fully expect Myles to make the talk show circuit by the end of the week starting on the View.

After all, who better than the winner of the Philly Drag Wars and Miss Fish NYC contests, to be the conduit of information about the Inquiry on removing a duly elected President? Levity and mockery of the proceedings fit hand and glove with the Democrat’s approach to oversight and constitutional obligations to date. I even wonder if Pissi was granted time with one of the therapy dogs brought in for stress reduction? No, seriously, the Democrats provided therapy animals in the capitol for staffers who were feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Safe spaces and Painted Men wearing false eyelashes and trussed up in girdles are the new normal. Drag queens wearing bustiers and fishnets cuddle our children in library reading sessions. Drag shows for kids as young as five, where parents encourage their children to perform on stage, is trending in some cities. And now doing the Impeachment Drag will become normalized too.

Freedom of expression is a real concept, but so is self-editing and social cues. Civil societies with moral tone always have boundaries. I do not claim to know what is in Pissi Myles’s heart, but I recognize malignant narcissism when it rears its ugly head. Perpetuating this bizarre, intrusive, disrupting presentation and actions as simply self-expression is enabling the degradation of what makes humans unique. Mature human beings strive to master self-control coupled with accountability and have situational awareness.

If everything goes anywhere, anytime, the inevitable outcome is self-loathing, misery, and destructive acts towards self and others. History is rife with examples if anyone reads history anymore. In today’s modernity, Myles has become at least a footnote in history.

So, I am in the too much, and enough is enough crowd. And before you hurl the word bigot in my direction, consider the following: A. My declaration is narrow in scope pertaining to the choice to attend the public Impeachment hearings in such a train wreck, neon light, presentation.  Along with the sensationalism and media platforms elevating that choice as brave and emblematic of another Social Justice Warrior barrier broken.  B. Consider what has been posted on Twitter /Facebook since Myles Big Top was on full parade. Here is just a sampling from the self-identified left :

  • “We found where Rudy has been hiding.”
  • “Is that you, Senator Lindsey Graham?”
  • “She Kind of looks like the love child of Jared Kushner and Sarah Sanders.”
  • “When will the average Republican show up with their jackboots, torches, and swastikas chanting racists slogans?”
  • “Give me Drag Queens any day!”
  • “The Don wears more make up than Pissi.”

You get the flavor of the snark, Glasshouses, stones and all.

Andrew Breitbart famously said that politics is downstream of culture. I certainly see a citizenry drowning in a culture designed to desensitize, numb, and feed the ID. Freud, a deeply flawed individual, got at least one thing right. The sub-conscience mind, if left to only feed its desires incapable of delayed gratification, cannot hope to mature to a state of effective survival. A culture that glorifies freak sideshows on command will certainly see a day where it either sinks into collapse or spontaneously combusts.

I was born and raised in the enigma known as "The Big Easy." There, rooted along the banks of the great Mississippi River between the creeping bayou and Lake Pontchartrain, I was conscripted on all things pertaining to human nature.  I am the quintessential southern woman, that is to say, I defy most could never accurately define what that label truly represents.  Brined below sea level where one respects; the haunts lingering about, the force of storm surge, the ethos of Mardi Gras, and the sanctity of generational family-I know what it is to belong to an organically diverse culture.

Early on in life, my career path serpentined and led to brief stints of living varied experiences as I indulged my passions for painting, musical theater, and the culinary arts. My young experiences evolved my purpose and honed my intuitive skills and I became a Medical Professional specializing in mental health with a focus on child/adolescent needs. After living decades in NOLA, and after hurricane  Katrina unearthed the realities of modern-day inner cities, I made the pivotal decision to relocate to where my family and I spent our summers in a quest to find security and civility in my life.

High up on one of the "grandfather mountains" I now perch in a Smoky mountain community in East Tennessee. Although, I would not trade my formative years in Louisiana, unfortunately,  that era of  America  is  no longer obtainable in the times we live - changing course was the best decision "Evah!"

I am a warrior  for freedom and truth , steeped in my ancestral history ,I am constantly reminded that stillness and introspection expands the mind and heart to possess a more nuanced understanding of all things in our internal and external world. We are all destined to bash ourselves against the rotted cultural rocks of humanity's unraveling until we recognize that a shared moral tone is essential for a free society. A healthy culture is one comprised of many unique people who offer shading and depth to the experience of living, yet all choose to accept basic truths that bind us all together-a societal moral tone. Intolerance  , censorship, intersectionality, cancel culture, apathy ,and ignorance will only groom oppression and tyranny.  Critical thought, differentiation, and dissent is your individual right granted not by government -and must always be protected, championed, and defended.
