Dr. Fauci at the NIH with Effective Choroquine Study in 2005, Now Forgets in 2020

An article published by the Virology Journal dated August 22, 2005, calls into question some of Dr. Fauci’s past statements on Chloroquine (HydroxyChoroquine is a less toxic derivative of Chloroquine). The title is “Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread.”

The Virology Journal is officially published through the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and is part of the United States National Library of Medicine, a branch of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Anthony Fauci, an immunologist, has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. NIAID is one of 27 institutes that make up the NIH. Dr. Fauci is the lead Medical Expert on the President’s Corona Task Force. See the full report here and see a reprinted summary below.

The researchers reported:

“We report, however, that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantages. In addition to the well-known functions of chloroquine, such as elevations of endosomal pH, the drug appears to interfere with terminal glycosylation of the cellular receptor, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. This may negatively influence the virus-receptor binding and abrogate the infection, with further ramifications by the elevation of vesicular pH, resulting in the inhibition of infection and the spread of SARS CoV at clinically admissible concentrations.”

The researchers concluded :

Chloroquine is effective in preventing the spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. Favorable inhibition of virus spread was observed when the cells were either treated with chloroquine prior to or after SARS CoV infection. In addition, the indirect immunofluorescence assay described herein represents a simple and rapid method for screening SARS-CoV antiviral compounds.

Chloroquine, a relatively safe, effective, and cheap drug used for treating many human diseases including malaria, amoebiosis, and human immunodeficiency virus, is effective in inhibiting the infection and spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. The fact that the drug had a significant inhibitory antiviral effect when the susceptible cells were treated either prior to or after infection suggests a possible prophylactic and therapeutic use.

Please note this research was conducted with cell culture conditions or in-vitro. There were not introduced into infected hosts, animal or human trials. This would be in phase II and phase III study.

Right Wire Report ponders a simple question:

Why is Dr. Fauci acting as if he knows nothing about the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine?

President Trump first tweeted about Hydroxychloroquine  in combination with Azithromycin on March 21:

Fox News hosts Ingram, Tucker, and Hannity had contributors on air to discuss the drug cocktail to combat Coronovirus and still report segments ongoing.

But when Dr. Fauci was first questioned by the press on the treatment possibility, he was clear to use the word anecdotal when describing a lack of evidence of effectiveness. Surely, Dr. Fauc was aware of the research published through NCBI back in 2005? After all, it was done following the SARS outbreak of 2003 in a quest by his organization, NIH, to develop a treatment of vaccine for SARS. Dr, Fauci’s statements made it appear that this was new information related to this outbreak only, and we would be at the beginning of exploring this clinical hypothesis.

The CDC and Dr. Fauci have told us the COVID-19, which is labeled SARS-CoV-2, is closely genetically related, sharing 70% of its genome. Both Coronavirus’s use the same host cell receptor, which is what viruses use to gain entry to the cell and infect the victim. Testing has been formulated as SARS -CoV-2 as well. Here is Fauci giving testimony to the  House Appropriations Subcommittee in  March 2020 talking, specifically about the SARS vaccine study and how that is the jumping-off point for COVID vaccine research. Is it possible he would not have read the NIH specific research?

Since the President’s tweet and advocating from the podium the chance to use this drug cocktail, under medical supervision, both Fauci and the Media/DNC hybrid, have been doing everything to minimize and dismiss the suggestion and limit the progression of usage. Why?

Following the French microbiologist Dr. Didier Raoult, the first trial of the combo, the NCBI released this positive review on March 21, 2020. Raoult’s follow up trial with a larger sample was also affirmative. A New York Physician treating Coronavirus patients, Dr. Zelenko, treated close to 500 with the drug combo and found it highly effective. New York Dr. Stephen Smith also reports positive outcomes in his study with COVID 19 patients. In another study, Turkey claims success in treating Coronavirus with broad use of malaria drug hydroxychloroquine.

The media rejoiced when a Veterans Administration study seemed to indicate failure with the cocktail. However, despite the spin, it turned out the patients were in the end stages of life and not given complete combo and correct dosing. Here are additional sources about the treatment modality, here and here.

Meanwhile, Judicial Watch announced that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit on behalf of the Daily Caller News Foundation against the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) for communications and other records of National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci and Deputy Director H. Clifford Lane with and about the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning the novel coronavirus (Daily Caller News Foundation v. U.S. Department Justice (No. 1:20-cv-01149)).

Did Dr. Fauci’s memory seem to not include the 2005 Chloroquine study, which provides the base for present-day discussions on the drug? We do know he will appear this week in front of the Labor HHS Education Subcommittee hearing on COVID-19 response. This is extremely important, as it seems Dr. Fauci has more influence over U.S. national policy on the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic than anyone, including the President. Right Wire Report will be listening very carefully.

  1. Wow, these seem to be very curious inconsistencies from the point man on COVID19.
I can understand a healthy skepticism but it seems more likely there is a deliberate downplaying of the potential for Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin.
To downplay a potentially effective treatment that could save many lives raises serious alarm in my mind.

    • Fauci is in bed with Bill Gates. Question, if they’ve never been able to make a vaccine for SARS CoV1, the common cold (another SARS) how are they miraculously doing it now and it’s being made in CHINA!!!!

  2. The worlds of science and politics are two absolutely different ones. I believe we should not expect much of him to behave like a scientist when he’s in the political scene.

  3. George Soros and Bill Gates are major stockholders of Rendesiver, this tilts to their advantage. Fauci a huge disappointment.

  4. I have a sneaking suspicion that after 11/3/2020 if (gulp) biden wins Covid19 will disappear suddenly and biden will take the credit. If Trump wins, they will just continue the same as always.

  5. Seems to me Fauci, the vaccine salesman has been lying from the start for monetary and political gain. He should be relieved of his position and some where near 100,000 people should form a class action suit against the CDC or maybe individual suits against Fauci to keep him tied up in court, till the day he dies!

I was born and raised in the enigma known as "The Big Easy." There, rooted along the banks of the great Mississippi River between the creeping bayou and Lake Pontchartrain, I was conscripted on all things pertaining to human nature.  I am the quintessential southern woman, that is to say, I defy most could never accurately define what that label truly represents.  Brined below sea level where one respects; the haunts lingering about, the force of storm surge, the ethos of Mardi Gras, and the sanctity of generational family-I know what it is to belong to an organically diverse culture.

Early on in life, my career path serpentined and led to brief stints of living varied experiences as I indulged my passions for painting, musical theater, and the culinary arts. My young experiences evolved my purpose and honed my intuitive skills and I became a Medical Professional specializing in mental health with a focus on child/adolescent needs. After living decades in NOLA, and after hurricane  Katrina unearthed the realities of modern-day inner cities, I made the pivotal decision to relocate to where my family and I spent our summers in a quest to find security and civility in my life.

High up on one of the "grandfather mountains" I now perch in a Smoky mountain community in East Tennessee. Although, I would not trade my formative years in Louisiana, unfortunately,  that era of  America  is  no longer obtainable in the times we live - changing course was the best decision "Evah!"

I am a warrior  for freedom and truth , steeped in my ancestral history ,I am constantly reminded that stillness and introspection expands the mind and heart to possess a more nuanced understanding of all things in our internal and external world. We are all destined to bash ourselves against the rotted cultural rocks of humanity's unraveling until we recognize that a shared moral tone is essential for a free society. A healthy culture is one comprised of many unique people who offer shading and depth to the experience of living, yet all choose to accept basic truths that bind us all together-a societal moral tone. Intolerance  , censorship, intersectionality, cancel culture, apathy ,and ignorance will only groom oppression and tyranny.  Critical thought, differentiation, and dissent is your individual right granted not by government -and must always be protected, championed, and defended.
