I’ve been thinking about where the word privilege actually seems to fit into our everyday conversations and I can’t remember a young person using that term. What I remember is situations where an emcee is introducing a guest and says, “We are privileged to have with us…..” or someone saying “It’s a privilege to be here.” Until recently, it seemed to be an uncommon term for Americans to use—now it’s everywhere. Dangit.
