EU sanctions Belarus government over thousands of migrants trapped at borders in freezing conditions

European Union leaders claim Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko engineered a deadly migrant crisis at the border with Poland by encouraging desperate migrants from Syria, Iraq and other war-torn countries to enter Europe in retaliation for recent sanctions.
