East Tennessee has four seasons and an occasional dusting from time to time with light snow during the winter months. But constant frigid temperatures are out of the norm for the area, but not this year. East Tennessee, like many areas of the country, is experiencing an icy bitter cold snap. Many communities are struggling with inflation and higher energy prices so a proper cold winter wardrobe may be lacking.
Enter East Tennessee’s spirit and gumption in an act of kindness taking the form of mystery scarves tied around poles in Oak Ridge. Each warm neck accessory has a printed note attached indicating if one needs the warmth to keep the cold off their neck to take the scarf and make it their own.
Wow, does this inspire you to give back to your community? Just think of all the little things we can do that would add huge comfort and value to others.
