“One resident told Tampa Bay Times, “it looks like somebody took an atom bomb and dropped it,” referring to the widespread damage across Southwest Florida following the devastating hurricane that made landfall about 24 hours ago near Fort Myers as a Cat. 4 storm.”
The effects of this devastating storm are continue to unfold as massive flooding sweeps over SW Florida as far as 150 miles from landfall. Floridians will need help for some time to come. We know these times are difficult for Americans financially, but we ask if you can possibly donate – please do.
The Right Wire Report has gathered some credible donation sites and will continue to update as warranted.

I considered moving to Florida. I decided against, because of HURRICANES!
How many times do Floridians expect others to pay for their homes to be rebuilt for them because they CHOOSE to live in hurricane alley?
Many Floridians have had their homes rebuilt for them multiple times, paid for by people not living in hurricane alley.
Floridians pay taxes. A portion of which goes to the federal treasury as a Florida Government payment to the federal treasury. in 2020 Florida cut a check of over 70 Billion! Also most states , and Florida is one of them, is mandates to pay into the FEMA fund.
FEMA does not build you a new house if you lack your own insurance on the property. FEMA does offer grant money and loans if you meet criteria to assist towards goal of building new. In 2021 the disaster relief fund of Florida also assists residents. Generally , FEMA provides costs of large state infrastructure rebuilds but again Fl. pays into Feds annually. Residents of all states can apply for immediate short term FEMA assistance which the average is $ 2500 , for temporary housing and assistance,
Major charities and churches do finance total rebuilds of those who have no insurance . The major cost to FEMA is major civil engineering projects , electrical grid .energy and water issues. FEMA also pays immediate food, search and rescue. The US Military also does so but again, Fl. tax payers pay into cost of Military annually through taxation.
I am curious , do you feel the same way for residents that live in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska – tornado alley? What about the millions who live in earthquake paths ( not just California you now), flood zones? Ice storms and blizzards? Volcanoes? I mean seriously everyone practically lives in some risk zone.
