"The simple step of a courageous individual is to not take part in the lie. One word of truth outweighs the world." Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
I was born and raised in the enigma known as "The Big Easy." There, rooted along the banks of the great Mississippi River between the creeping bayou and Lake Pontchartrain, I was conscripted on all things pertaining to human nature. I am the quintessential southern woman, that is to say, I defy most could never accurately define what that label truly represents. Brined below sea level where one respects; the haunts lingering about, the force of storm surge, the ethos of Mardi Gras, and the sanctity of generational family-I know what it is to belong to an organically diverse culture.
Early on in life, my career path serpentined and led to brief stints of living varied experiences as I indulged my passions for painting, musical theater, and the culinary arts. My young experiences evolved my purpose and honed my intuitive skills and I became a Medical Professional specializing in mental health with a focus on child/adolescent needs. After living decades in NOLA, and after hurricane Katrina unearthed the realities of modern-day inner cities, I made the pivotal decision to relocate to where my family and I spent our summers in a quest to find security and civility in my life.
High up on one of the "grandfather mountains" I now perch in a Smoky mountain community in East Tennessee. Although, I would not trade my formative years in Louisiana, unfortunately, that era of America is no longer obtainable in the times we live - changing course was the best decision "Evah!"
I am a warrior for freedom and truth , steeped in my ancestral history ,I am constantly reminded that stillness and introspection expands the mind and heart to possess a more nuanced understanding of all things in our internal and external world. We are all destined to bash ourselves against the rotted cultural rocks of humanity's unraveling until we recognize that a shared moral tone is essential for a free society. A healthy culture is one comprised of many unique people who offer shading and depth to the experience of living, yet all choose to accept basic truths that bind us all together-a societal moral tone. Intolerance , censorship, intersectionality, cancel culture, apathy ,and ignorance will only groom oppression and tyranny. Critical thought, differentiation, and dissent is your individual right granted not by government -and must always be protected, championed, and defended.
Thankyou Bekah for a very thought provoking video, I actually watched it twice. Could this be the catalyst that unites the right and the left? As a progressive thinker I resonated totally with the messages of oneness and unity of mankind. The idea that non locality, non separateness’ and interconnectedness is the foundation of reality for me is a fundamental truth. Many on the right will resonate with the idea of preservation of freedom from the tyranny of oppression from the elite. Vandana Shiva brings these ideas together, Many on the left who see freedom as desirable but less important than other values will perhaps have to rethink this idea. Similarly those on the right that have not embraced notions of the unity of mankind may too stop and think. I would welcome others thoughts on this.
Another testament to the inability of women to think logically. Singing Kumbaya and holding hands has never solved anything. Her inability to accept the reality of what drives human behavior and her distortion of historic truths is outright frightening. No wonder India doesn’t get anywhere. Even her understanding of quantum behavior lacks, though she talks as if she is an authority on the subject.
Mint, I have never met, conversed , or read any Conservative who was anti-unity. Or any Conservative who does not believe in the concept that mankind in interlinked and connected. Or any Conservtaive who believes in freedom and liberty who also believes that being free means being soley independent of all other beings.
I truly think one glaring issue that progressives have with those they label on the right is that they have no clue what words and meanings are as it pertains to describing Conservatism. To oppose a policy is NOT to oppose humanity’s connective cord that binds us. To submit to what will harm others is not unity but it is a choice. Blatantly, those who defend indiviual freedom do so to benefit the whole of mankind.
It is the eternal struggle as warriors against tyranny that one dedicates their value system to promote that which could never result in a lack of unity and connectiveness. Only free people possess the capacity to know the value of others… those simulated to the borg can only have the capacity to value their masters. By the way that is by design.
‘That I would lay down my life for another I have never met so as they can remain free.”
” That I would hate what you speak but defend your right to express whatever you wished.”
” That I will conserve the way of life that best promotes positive society outcomes for the majority.”
These are tenets that honor and encompass all that is what we deem humanity. I value that interconnectedness is a byproduct of being free people.
I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Bekah, maybe we converse with different conservatives. It’s the deeper understanding of unity that seems to be anathema to most conservatives that I have conversed with. Notions such as the oneness of mankind, the interconnectedness of humanity, are simply expressions of that unity. These notions run counter to conservative ideals that are expressed in nationalism, individuality, and self. Take for example the idea that “it takes a whole village to raise a child.” Put that into a conservative chat room and take cover! There are many many conservatives that will reject those notions of global unity, even as an ideal to work towards, preferring instead the a clinging to international borders and even intranational borders (eg state lines) as a way of preserving separation.
